now, a plea. Our marriage is about to fall apart, as are the other couple thousand of marriages performed recently, and it has nothing to do with our love for each other or desire to stay married, it has everything to do with a few people who want to tear them apart. There is a court case, two in fact, to get an injunction and to nullify the amazing thing that happened yesterday.
People will still be getting married up till then tomorrow (if you still hope to, at LEAST till 11am tomorrow its possible)
If you live in the San Francisco area, or can make it here tomorrow, please come to the City Hall with two things in mind, support the hundreds of people in line that will be there to get married with words of encouragement and maybe some coffee :), and support the thousands that have married already by rallying at the courthouse (right across the street from city hall). Bring signs, bring coffee, bring your love and your support. If you can't be there, blog about it and call, email or otherwise contact anyone and everyone you know who could to be there. (and btw, if you want to read more accounts of marriages, go over to BMW and take a look at his growing roster.. or add to it) The more that are there, the more that the world will see that we do not want our marriages taken from us. Information about times (11am/2pm) etc, in 'read more' link.

The first hearing will occur at 11AM, before Superior Court Judge Ronald Quidachay, on a suit brought by the "Campaign for California Families".
The second will begin at 2PM, before Superior Court Judge James Warren, at 400 McAllister (near City Hall), on a suit brought by the "Proposition 22 Legal Defense and Education Fund".
there is still a question as to whether these lawsuits will hold up. These two groups have filed suit to have an injunction put on further marriages and to void the ones already done. Apparently, one interpretation of California law is that only individual citizens of the state (not out of state people like the first, in spite of their name, nor groups, like both) can bring suit and THEN they must prove irrepairable harm will come to them it if isn't stopped. I'm not sure if that will hold up, but we'll see. in the meantime the more public support shown the better.
i hope that both fail, either way though, it will be an interesting future...
We want to keep our marriage
I'm taking off the day from work tomorrow to go down to city hall and the court building at 10am. hope to see you there!! and i'll take more photos :)

If I can figure out how to keep 5 kids happy in the CIty in the rain, I will try my damndest to be there. I so wanted to be there today - to cheer and congratulate, but Jamie wanted today as a family (something we rarely get). I was there in spirit and if I can convince the boys (the younger 3 will probably need no convincing) we'll be there at 11!

The thing that absolutely amazes me - even though the rain has really dampened my spirits - is that each and every official at City Hall (well, maybe not the Sherrifs) donated their time. No-one was getting paid for doing their jobs this weekend. That absolutely floors me! That alone speaks VOLUMES! If SFCC workers (and I'll not get into city workers, but I think we all know what I'm talking about :)) can show up to do their job and do it extra efficiently and NOT EVEN GET PAID TO DO IT, does that not speak volumes of the absolute KNOWLEDGE that marriage should not be selectively granted - that it doesn't matter one iota whom is loving whom.

TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR!!!!
Channel 5 had such a beautiful report tonight and Leslie Griffith (ch 2) was positively BEAMING as she introduced her network's piece (which, being ch 2, was 8 minutes of reporting).
Oh Trey - I hope you are taking advantage of all the newlywed perks and NEVER find out what DH really stands for (evil grin).
Many many congratulations and if I don't find a miracle to get us there tomorrow, know we are there in spirit and I hope the momentum carries and Judge Warren sees the light (he's already got points in my book for refusing to hear the "anti family" arguments last Friday).
