Weekend in the Life of DP&M

Lets see:

Saturday (Daddy was on a trip Saturday)

I took Emma to her soccer game where she made 3 goals (and ran off the field to hug me giggling every time).
--Then it was off to the garden shop (or as Emma calls it "the bug store") to buy our spring lady bugs. We do it every year, it's becoming a tradition.
--Then we went to get my mop cut off (hair was getting unruly). She enjoyed sitting there watching me get all that hair cut off.
--Then she and I went to lunch at the diner next door where she played with the plastic bugs we got at the "bug store" (the real lady bugs were still in the car :).

So, according to this article , on Saturday I spent just about the total number of hours Saturday in "child care" that the average father does in a week. I'll have more to say about that article tomorrow (and Terrance's post about it).

Later Guy (he flew in late afternoon) and I went to the school auction (which reminds me, we got our public school assignment, guess more on that later too).

Sunday I went to the SF Flower and Garden show while Guy took Emma to a birthday party where they made stuffed bears.

The garden show is part of my continuing education of what I can grow in this strange mild climate... my camillas do wonderful. And so do the cymbidium orchids that have bloomed three years in a row for me now. And I learned that Australian Dendrobium orchids also do well (so I bought one of each :).

We then went to the beach near the Golden Gate bridge to meet some new friends. A same-sex (male) couple. One from Vietnam, the other from the US who adopted 3 African American kids. Emma had a great time.

Then was home for Sunday supper with another couple (and their two kids).

Whew.
