Apologies

Thank you for the recent comments everyone, and sincere apologies for not posting in the last couple weeks.. but even more so for not posting that everything was all right and making people wonder by not doing so.

Have no excuses really, but you'll find them in the extended anyway... ;-)

Upside of Global Warming

So, to get back into the blogging life...

Emma and I attended the graduation party of my nephew and niece here in San Francisco (both graduated from high school this month). It was an unusually warm day for the peninsula.

Emma was asking her usual barrage of questions (why this? where that? what is that for? etc) and as we got in the car she asked "Why is it so hot again today?"

I was being a bit flippant in my answer (sometimes I just have no idea how to answer!) and said:

"Well Emma, the whole world is getting warmer.. it's called global warming"

Her response:

"Oh.. Good.. I get more ice cream"

VICTORY

Well the Massachusetts legislature just voted to not to put a ban on same-sex marriage up to a vote. It needed 50 votes (out of 200) to pass and go to the ballot. It got 45.

A surprising and devastating defeat for the opponents of marriage equality and it now means that marriage equality is here to stay in Massachusetts. Hopefully it will bode will for other states :D.

Summer time... and the living is postless

What you'll see until about mid-August is bursts of posts and then none.

Sorry.. but here is a cute 'darndest thing' post for today :D

Supper Talk: Personality and Organization

So, as part of something I'm doing for improvement, I took a personality assessment (called rightpath) and took a "Organization and Project Management" class. The results of the former were interesting (but nothing new really... just gave voice to what I knew.. good and bad) and what I learned from the latter might prove to be interesting.

My personality is very "accomodating," very "social," somewhere in the middle of the compassionate/disimpassioned spectrum..slight towards compassionate, very unstructured, daring but not ambitious, highly imaginative and resourceful...

iPhone...

I won't be getting this week when they come out (not for the lack of salivating desire though.. more about money and timing), but the early reviews say that it lives up to the hype even with it's (already know) problems like price, not-so-stellar network, certain missing features... they are all problems that will change in short order too.

So come fall or so... I'm getting a iPhone!
