Candidate Positions

So, another political season (if you were reading in 2004, you'd have noticed a lot of such posts :). You'll see me posting more politics, mainly because this blog is for Emma. I want her and our descendents to be able to look back and see what life was like as we grew up... (just warning you :).

Group A: Average age 62.2, average net worth 61 million, 100% white, 100% male

Group B: Average age 56.2, average net worth 19 million, 60% white/20% black/20% hispanic, 80% male/20% female.

Group B isn't a perfect mirror of American society in the 21st century (they are fabulously wealthy), but it's a lot closer than Group A. Of course the latter group are the top 5 Democratic candidates for the nomination and the former group are the top 5 for the Republicans. Or as the NY Times says: "Whose Century is it anyway?"

btw, I started a few blog posts I'll publish as I finish them on the candidates' (Democrat, there isn't a Republican I'd consider at this point. I like McCain except is war stance, but any top Democrat contender would get my vote over considering his) positions on issues that are important to me with an eye to what they can actually do or not do as president:

LBGT Equality (marriage, ENDA, military)
Health Care
Global Warming
Energy Independence (related to GW!)
Foreign Policy
"Intangible"

Those aren't in order of importance or when I'll finish them.. but the first finished will be LBGT equality.
