Obama won the Iowa caucus if you haven't heard already. First time a man of color has one the Iowa caucus (a state where >92% of the populace is white). Admittedly, my support for Obama has wavered, but I support him and the more I hear him, the more I think he'd be the exact president this country, and this family, needs at this time.

I'm a long-time reader of your blog, a white adoptive mom of two black sons (from Ethiopia), and your post yesterday was absolutely heartbreaking. And Obama's victory speech was incredibly moving and inspiring to me. My kids are young enough (3 and 5) that I hope they never are able to think a black man couldn't be president--because one is.

I am currently wavering between Edwards and Obama, though I wish I could support Clinton to show my daughter that a woman could be president. Though I do favor Edwards over Obama a bit now I got chills listening to Obama speak last night - could this be history in the making?

it might be just me, but I'm having trouble finding the post that talked about your support for Obama wavering. i click the link (on the word "wavered") and i get all posts that are tagged with Obama.
if you have the time, do you think you could put a link to the specific post you had in mind..?

You know, I think I had a post at one point, unpublished, when Obama refused to cancel McClurkin's singing and even talking at his campaign, that basically said I was withdrawing support.
I changed my mind after more thought and after he spoke at a talk with black ministers and was quite direct and forceful about his support for gay rights.
I guess I wavered, but not enough to actually post. I thought I had, but didn't :)
