Nature, a poem by Emma

Written by her own hand,

Birds, red, fly in the sky
and blue rain falls down
the sun is bright and yellow
the grass is so colorful it shines
the pretty flowers are pink
Nature is just beautiful

He inventive spelling below

She did this on her own with her understanding of spelling as it stands now (best guess spelling)

Birds, red, fly in the sky
and blu ran fols down
the sun is brit and yelow
the gras is colrful it shins
the prety flowrs are pink
natur is just butiful

I think I like it with her spelling better, tho I kant tel u wy.

Jen

What a fine poet she is. And the spelling is pretty darn good. Too damn cute. That deserves to not only go on the fridge but should be matted and framed.

tell me, Trey, what led up to her writing this poem? was she out in the great outdoors? or perhaps she finished reading a book with you or Guy about nature?

I like her theme of colour she uses... and i like how she notices how the grass "shines" when under the sparkling sun! especially just after it rains a little in the morning :-)

What a sweet beautiful poem! I'm very impressed.

Thanks, I think it is beautiful of course :), dave I agree, I like her theme of color :).

funny, i never thought of rain as blue, but I guess that makes sense.

She wrote this because she told her tutor she wanted to write one and so they got out a piece of paper and pencil and she wrote it on her own.

Her spelling, considering the phonemes she knows at this point (she hasn't learned "ai" for example) is pretty good!

It's definitely going on fridge Jen (oh, forgot to mention, she wrote the words in different colors to match too)...

and I like her spelling too :D
