Daddy, Papa and Me

An unconventional family in a conventional world, taking notes

Had a nice weekend

IMG_0201We had a nice weekend, spent some time down in the Santa Cruz mountains. Beautiful place, we saw some land I wish we could buy :) .
Emma’s team one their soccer match (3-1!). Driving to the game, Emma said her goal for the game is to have one really good kick. She did! I liked the goal. Not “win the game” (which is out of her individual power), but ‘get a really good kick in” (which is!). She did, several :D . And the girls did really well. The coaches (courageous parents that they are) have been doing a great job!
We then went to dinner with the GLBT parents from the school, and then took Emma to a playdate at AcroSports with ‘the boys’.
And that was all Saturday.
Sunday was a nice quiet morning, gym, house, TV.
Then we took Emma and two of her friends to see the Hobbit, a puppet show put on by Theatre sans Fil.

I recommend the production. It was fun and all three kids were mesmerized the entire show. Funny, none of the kids (all 7yo) knew of the Hobbit. I did try to read the Hobbit to Emma a couple years ago, but the language was surprisingly difficult. I hadn’t remembered that. I hope she’ll love the story as much as I did (but I didn’t read it till I was 10).
Then, later that evening was our Family Game Night. The extended family (Emma’s grandparents, uncles/aunts, cousins and us) have a new 2nd sunday of the month game night potluck. It was our second one. As fun as the first :D .
